Many thanks to David Simon at Yale’s Genocide Studies Program for includingĀ VORĀ in theĀ Yale University Symposium on the 20th Anniversary of the Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda. VOR testimonies were screened as part of the “The Genocide’s Legacies in Rwanda” panel. @Yale

19th Commemoration, April 7 (DC)

It was an honor for VOR to be included in the 19th National Commemoration hosted by the Rwandan Embassy. VOR’s director Taylor Krauss shared his thoughts on the power of testimonies in Rwanda today. Other speakers included Ambassador Eng. James Kimonyo along with testimonies from Tabitha Mugenzi and Kalima Kizito.

Many thanks to Sue Grand, Deborah Liner, and Jill Salberg for planning such a thoughtful, personal, and moving conference. “The Wounds of History” hosted by NYU’s Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis provided a special opportunity to share VOR testimonies with a community of practitioners who care deeply about issues of trans-generational transmission of trauma.
Co-Panelists: Eric V. Hachikian screened excerpts from his film Voyage to Amasia; VOR’s director Taylor Krauss screened testimonies from the archive; and Socheata Poeuv screened testimonies from Khmer Legacies. (March 1-3, 2013)
